Güneş Terkol’s Epipe exhibition presents a layered visual narrative tracing the migration of Kazan Tatars from Russia to China and eventually to Türkiye.
Epipe is the result of long‑term oral history and archival research by Güneş Terkol and her mother, showcased at Salt Galata. The exhibition explores the multi‑stage migration of Kazan Tatars from late 19th‑century Russia to China and then Türkiye, weaving together drawings, animation, and stitched elements into a complex audio‑visual story. Themes of family memory, intergenerational exchange, and lived experience form the core of this deeply personal visual journey.
