Barajdan Sızanlar
April 22 – August 16, 2026
Salt Beyoğlu
Barajdan Sızanlar presents a selection focusing on the relationship between land, memory, and archive across a vast geography extending from the Eastern Mediterranean to the Gulf region.
The exhibition approaches space through artistic practices not only as a physical ground, but also as a site of memory where historical, political, and cultural layers are interwoven.

Dams, canals, oil wells, geothermal power plants, and surveillance systems are examined as infrastructures that transform both geography and the social relations formed around it. Within this transformation, memory is not lost; rather, it seeps through the cracks and reshapes the present.

The exhibition brings together narratives from different geographies, ranging from colonial “inland sea” projects to telecommunication networks, and from abandoned landscapes to traces of erased settlements, constructing a multilayered visual and conceptual space.

This approach imagines a shared historical experience and a ground for solidarity beyond borders. Barajdan Sızanlar invites viewers to reconsider land as an archive, opening up discussions on remembrance, coexistence, and place-hood at the intersection of contemporary art.
