Atatürk Arboretum is an arboretum located in the Sarıyer district of Istanbul, Turkey, within the Belgrade Forests. Covering an area of 296 hectares, the arboretum was founded in 1949 and is the first arboretum in Turkey. The arboretum houses over 2,000 species of trees and plants from around the world. These plants are used for scientific research and educational purposes. In addition, the arboretum has a pond, various walking trails, and picnic areas. Atatürk Arboretum also serves as an education and research center. In addition, various educational programs and workshops are organized for children and adults. Atatürk Arboretum welcomes thousands of visitors each year. The arboretum is open every day from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm during the week. It is closed on weekends and public holidays. Admission is charged, and fees vary for adults, students, and groups.
