Shiota's installation envelops the exhibition space with intricate red threads, symbolizing "existence in absence." The red color, frequently used in her works, represents life’s flow and connects people, emotions, and memories. Each suitcase in the installation symbolizes a person, creating a visual dialogue around themes of home, belonging, and identity. The interconnected suitcases invite viewers to engage physically and emotionally, prompting reflection on time, space, movement, and memory.
"Between Worlds" serves as a contemplative space where viewers can consider their own lives and relationships within a broader context of humanity. Shiota's universe, crafted with threads, not only creates a visually striking environment but also invites exploration of the inner labyrinth of human experience.
