Hatice Sultan Mansion is a historic mansion located in the historic Ortaköy district of Istanbul, adjacent to the Büyük Mecidiye Mosque. This historic mansion was built in the late 19th century by Sultan Abdul Hamid II for Hatice Sultan, the daughter of Murad V. After the Ottoman dynasty was exiled abroad, the mansion served as an orphanage and elementary school. In 1972, a swimming pool was added to the mansions garden when it was allocated to the Swimming Club. One of six sultan mansions, Hatice Sultan Mansion is the only mansion still standing in Ortaköy today, despite the fires that have occurred. This situation further increases the historical and cultural value of the mansion.
