A Historic Mosque in Istanbul
Pertevniyal Valide Sultan Mosque is a historic mosque located in the Aksaray neighborhood of Istanbul.
It was built between 1869 and 1871 by Pertevniyal Valide Sultan, the mother of Sultan Abdülhamid II. The mosque, which is a significant part of the citys cultural heritage, was designed by the Armenian architect Sarkis Balyan. The historic mosque, which bears the characteristics of Ottoman architecture, is notable for its elegant interior decorations, large dome, and two minarets.
