The mansion was built in the late 19th century for Abbas Hilmi Pasha, one of the Khedives of Egypt. However, the mansion is best known for Said Halim Pasha, who served as the Foreign Minister of the Ottoman Empire during the reign of Sultan Abdul Hamid II and the last Grand Vizier of the Ottoman Empire.
The mansion is named after Said Halim Pasha because he used the mansion for many years. The mansion is known as one of the largest and most magnificent mansions on the Bosphorus. Unfortunately, it was severely damaged in a fire in 1994 and its original state was largely lost. Today, the mansion is privately owned and is used for private events and meetings after restoration work.
