A Rare Example of 18th Century Bosphorus Civil Architecture
Şerifler Mansion is a rare mansion that has survived to the present day, an example of civil architecture that emerged in the 18th century on the Bosphorus.
It is also the oldest mansion on the Rumelian shore and is also notable for its interior decorations. It is thought to have been built in 1782, and only the selamlık divanhane has survived to the present day. The building, which was transferred to the Ministry of Culture by the owner in the 1970s, has gained its present appearance after a meticulous and comprehensive restoration process.
